Mexican Steak - Easy Mexican Recipe For Mexican Main Course
- 1 lb beef tenderloin (or boneless top loin steak) - cut to 1/2 inch thick
- 1 tbsp corn oil
- 1 medium onion (chopped)
- 1 can chunky tomato sauce
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp cilantro (chopped) - use parsley if prefer
- 1 tsp ground cumin

How to Make Mexican Steak:
- Cut beef across the grain into strips
- In a skillet, heat the oil
- Cook beef and onion, stirring ocassionally till beef becomes brown
- Stir in the tomato sauce, chili powder and cumin
- Heat to boiling, reduce heat to low
- Cover and simmer for 15 mins or till beef is tender
- Spoon into a serving dish, top with sour cream and sprinkle cilantro leaves
Beef is easier to cut if it is partially frozen. Simply put the beef into the freezer
for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
