This herbed steak recipe is not exactly authentic but draws its influence from southwest and Mexican cuisine.
Here we use flank steaks which is a cheaper cut but you can certainly use your favorite cuts of steak.
Mexican Herbed Steak - Easy Mexican Recipe For Mexican Main Course
- 2 beef flank steaks (1 to 1/2 lbs each)
- 1/2 cup lime juice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground pepper
- 4 cloves garlic (crushed)
- 1/4 fresh oregano (chopped)
- 2 tbsp olive oil

How to make Mexican Herbed Steak:
- In a plastic bag or bowl, mix in the lime juice, oregano, olive oil, salt and pepper and garlic
- Mix well then add beef
- Turn beef to coat with marinade and leave in refrigerator (15 to 30 mins)
- Turn once during refrigeration period
- Remove beef from marinade, discard marinade
- Cover and grill beef under broiler or barbeque
- Cut beef diagonally across
- Serve with your favorite vegetable
If you do not have access to fresh oregano, use dried ones work just as well. Subsitute with
2 tbsp of dried oregano leaves instead.
