This is a healthy seafood dish that's great to serve. We use a different type of salsa altoghether, using
melon and jicama instead of the traditional salsa.
Grilled Fish with Melon and Jicama Salsa - Easy Mexican Recipe For Mexican Main Course
- 1 1/2 lbs swordfish or tuna or marlin steaks (about 3/4 inch thick)
- 1/8 tsp red pepper (crushed)
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- garnish: lime wedges (optional)
Ingredients for Melon and Jicama Salsa
- 2 cups jicama (peeled & chopped)
- 1 tbsp fresh cilantro or parsley (chopped)
- 1 cucumber (peeled & chopped)
- 1 orange (peeled & chopped)
- 1/2 tsp chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp lime juice

How to make Grilled Fish with Melon and Jicama Salsa:
- If the fish steaks are too large, cut into smaller serving sizes (about 6)
- In a bowl, mix the oil, lime juice, salt and red pepper
- Place the fish steaks onto a shallow pan
- Pour the mixture over fish, turn to coat and marinade for 30 mins in refrigerator
- Remove fish from marinade, reserve the marinade
- Cover and grill the fish steaks on medium heat for about 10 mins
- Brush each side 2 to 3 times with marinade sauce
- Remember to turn once ONLY
- Fish is cook when the fish flakes easily with a fork
- Discard any remaining marinade
- Serve the fish with salsa and garnish with lime wedges
- How to make Melon and Jicama Salsa: Mix all the ingredients in a bowl
- Cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours to blend all flavors
- This melon and jicama salsa recipe will make about 3 cups
