What We Like:
Hotel Rating:
With its wonderful setting and style, it certainly felt as if you were stepping back in time as you enter
the Empress Hotel grand hallway. We thought the staff were friendly and helpful. The room we rented
had a stunning view of the harbor. We loved the old fashioned style bath tub. We also liked the fact that
it was located in the heart of Victoria itself and was a short walking distance to the
Royal Museum of BC
and Legislative Building.
Jeff's comments: It felt like I was stepping back in time when I stayed at this hotel, back to the good old colonial
days.
Aileen's comments: I like the swimming pool especially in the wee hours of the morning where I can swim without
any kids screaming and running around the pool.
What We Didn't Like:
In one word.... the price. Be ready to spend lots of money on this magnificient hotel. If you have no problems with
money, then this hotel is definitely for you. The food we ordered at the hotel was not as impressive as we thought
it would be, in fact, we thought we could get a better and more affordable meal
at
Milestones which was located five minutes
away from the hotel.
Aileen's comments: The Afternoon Tea was a bit pricey. At $50.00 per person, you must make reservations
at least two weeks in advance. However, if you haven't done it before, it's quite a unique experience and must
try it at least once.
